Islam is wrongly portrayed by many around the world as a bad religion that always take to violence to achieve its aims and objectives. Many people hate Muslims, because of the manner in which some few Muslims always take to violence. A lot of people also assert that all Muslims are terrorists and hate peace as well. But that is far from the truth. It is stereotypical to tag all Muslims as violent and terrorists. It’ s just a minority group of the Muslims who always resort to violence to achieve their aims. Muslims are just like you and me and there is no need to fear them. You should always feel free around them. Majority of my friends are Muslims and we always get along so well.
However, there are certain people who are the reasons why other people are always afraid of the Muslims and Islam as well. Below is a list of these people.
- Osama Bin Laden. The name Osama Bin Laden makes you shiver. No one needs an intro of who Osama Bin Laden is. Osama Bin Mohammed Bin Awad Bin Laden is better known as Osama Bin Laden. He founded the notorious Islamic terrorists group called al- Qaeda. Osama Bin Laden was the figure behind the September 11, 2001, attacks in the US that resulted to the deaths of nearly 3, 000 people.
He was eventually killed by the US Navy, during a secret operation ordered by the then US President, Barack Obama, on 1st May, 2011.
- Abubakar Shekau.
Abu Mohammed Abubakar bin Mohammed al- Shekawi is a Kanuri man and the current leader of the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents group, which operates in Nigeria and some parts of Chad. He is one of the most wanted personalities by the Nigerian Army. Shekau served as the assistant to the group’ s founder, Mohammed Yusuf, until he was executed by the police in the year 2009. Abubakar Shekau has also damaged the reputation of Islam in Nigeria. He is also one of the personalities who made other people fear the Muslims.
- Muammar Gaddafi. Muammar Gaddafi was a Libyan revolutionary, a politician and a political theorist as well. He was captured and eventually executed in October 2011, during the battle of Sirte.
The National Transitional Council Forces found Gaddafi hiding in a culvert, captured him and finally killed him afterwards. He has negatively affected the way many people view Islam today.
- Idi Amin. Idi Amin Dada Oumee was once the President of Uganda in the year 1971 to 1979. He was nick- named ” the Butcher of Uganda” due to his cruelty. He is known to be one of the cruelest people in world history.
He died in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on August 16th, 2003.
So what do you think about
these people? To me, I feel that there is no bad religion. This is because, every religion has a particular group of people who take to violence to achieve their selfish interests.
